Road Work to Close Intersection of Vickie and Riverview

Road work is scheduled to close the intersection of Riverview Avenue and Vickie Street for about a week starting Wednesday, Aug. 23.

The closure will not affect through traffic on Riverview, but will prevent motorists from turning onto Vickie Street from Riverview Avenue. There will also be no access from Vickie onto Riverview.

The Fort Morgan Public Library will have new shelving installed starting next month as part of the city’s capital improvement plan.

The shelving project was originally scheduled to begin at the end of August, but due to some delays with the installation contractor it is now expected to commence on Tuesday, Sept. 5. The work is planned for about four days.

FMPD Joins Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers

The Fort Morgan Police Department has joined Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers, a regional nonprofit organization now serving Boulder, Weld and Morgan counties.

FMPD K-9 Team Rated Outstanding in State

The Fort Morgan Police Department’s K-9 team achieved certification by a national police canine organization last week, and also earned recognition as the outstanding canine team in Colorado in the process.

FMPD Sgt. Jim Parks and K-9 Officer Carr participated in Patrol Dog 1 (PD 1) certification trials conducted by the United States Police Canine Association in Colorado Springs on Saturday, Aug. 5.
