Children's Library Closed by Flood Damage

The Children’s Library on the lower floor of the Fort Morgan Library and Museum building is expected to remain closed at least through the rest of this week due to flood damage.

Christmas Capital Events Continue through Dec. 23

Fort Morgan’s annual transformation to the Christmas Capital of the Plains is under way and events and activities will continue downtown through most of December.

FMPD to Dedicate Training Room to Fallen Officers

The Fort Morgan Police Department will dedicate the training room in the police department building to two officers who lost their lives in the line of duty during the department’s history.

The public is invited to the dedication ceremony for the Eyser-Rehmer Memorial Training Room at noon Monday, Dec. 18, at the police department at 901 E. Beaver Ave.

Rec Center Hosting Game Nights Three Times Weekly

Tabletop Game Nights are hosted at the Fort Morgan Recreation Center three evenings each week and everyone is welcome to attend and bring additional games.

Many games including Dungeon Roll, Zombie Dice, Munchkin, Gloom, Flux and many others will be enjoyed. The group is also more than willing to try new tabletop games brought by participants.

FMPD Officer Earns Crime Prevention Certification

Roger Doll, the Fort Morgan Police Department’s Community Resource Officer, recently earned a prestigious certification as a Level I National Crime Prevention Specialist.

Doll earned the designation from the National Crime Prevention Association, a national organization headquartered in Maryland. The certification takes into consideration an individual’s experience, training and other factors.

Adult Pickleball Starts Nov. 27 at Green Acres

A free pickleball open gym for adults 18 years and older will start Monday, Nov. 27, through the Fort Morgan Recreation Department at the Green Acres Elementary School gym.

The pickleball open gym will be Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. from Nov. 27 through March. All skill levels are welcome to come enjoy the fun. The event is free and no registration is required.
