Library Kicks Off Winter Reading Programs

The Fort Morgan Public Library is gearing up its Winter Reading Programs for adults and youths, with chances to win prizes based on how many pages or hours are read.

To register visit the Library circulation desk any time before March 6. Participants will receive a reading log to track all their reading between Jan. 30 and March 6, and those who achieve certain milestones will have a chance to win prizes. The programs run through March 6.

The youth program will be divided into elementary school, middle school and high school divisions. For elementary readers, their names will be placed in a drawing for a prize basket for every three hours they read. Middle school readers will get a drawing entry for every six hours read, and high schoolers will be entered for every eight hours.

Each youth division will also have an overall winner for the most hours read over the entire program, and each will earn a $50 Visa gift card.

In the adult program, readers will be entered in a drawing to win one of three gift baskets for every 500 pages they read. The gift baskets include “Library Lovers,” “Romantic Readers” and “Classical Fantastical.” The adult program will also reward the first- and second-place winners for most pages read, with first place earning a $75 Visa gift card and the second-place reader getting a $50 gift card.
