Downtown Business Burglaraized

A jewelry store located in the 100 block of West Beaver Avenue was burglarized early last week, causing damage to the store and the theft of items.

Fort Morgan Officers were called to the scene Monday morning on the report that the business’s entrance had been broken into. Officers found glass in the front door had been broken and several display cases inside the business had also been damaged.

Total damage was estimated at several hundred dollars and an inventory of stolen items is still being collected.

Officers believe the break-in occurred sometime Monday morning between 2:30 a.m. and the opening of business as an officer had patrolled the area earlier that same morning.

Officers processed the scene, collected evidence and checked surrounding businesses for surveillance footage that may have been caught on security cameras.

Anyone with information on this or other crimes is asked to call the Fort Morgan Police Department at 867-5678. If you wish to remain anonymous, call CRIMESTOPPERS at (970) 542-3411, or submit your tip online and remain anonymous.
