During the course of five days last week, officers from the Fort Morgan Police Department responded to an unusually high number of vandalism reports, the majority of them being graffiti.
In all there were at least nineteen reports of damaged items or graffiti painted on buildings, signs, fences or dumpsters. Some of those reports included more than one location being defaced.
In most of the cases the graffiti included spray paint and gang insignia. Damage and repainting costs proved costly, totaling $2,975 dollars
Vandalism was reported in all parts of town from Riverside Park to Jaycee Park and Sherman Street to Park Street.
Fort Morgan Police are stepping up patrols and have assigned officers to special enforcement in an attempt to identify those responsible for the recent spree of vandalisms.
