Early last week, a parent found they were the victim of a vehicle break in after spending time at the local swimming pool with their children.

Early last week, a parent found they were the victim of a vehicle break in after spending time at the local swimming pool with their children.

The automobile owner returned to their vehicle to find their satellite radio system had been taken. Upon further checking the owner found their checkbook and wallet, which contained cash and other documents, had also been taken.

The owner thought they had locked the vehicle with the keyless remote but were uncertain if the vehicle actually locked. Total value of all missing items was reported at $120 dollars.

Residents should remember to take valuables out of their vehicles when they are leaving their car unattended. If you are unable to take the items with you, they should be place out of sight or in the trunk.

Make certain vehicle doors are locked. Some thieves have been known to check numerous automobiles until they find an open door and then rummage through the car looking for anything of value.
