[ARCHIVED] Weekly Crime Alert

On September 21st at approximately 10:30 am, Fort Morgan Police Officers were called to a theft that had just occurred at Wal-Mart located at 1300 Barlow Rd.

The theft was not typical because the thief targeted expensive items, escaped through an emergency exit, and fled in a stolen vehicle. This type of planning and execution of the crime may indicate the involvement of a larger crime ring.

The thief took three flat screen televisions of various sizes with a total value of $694 dollars. A store employee observed the crime and obtained a description of the thief and the vehicle he fled in.

Police are looking for a white male, approximately 5 feet and 7 inches tall, weighing 180 to 190 pounds. At the time of the theft he was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. The vehicle was a small gray sedan with right front-end damage and had been reported stolen from the Thornton area 11 days earlier.

Police are looking for any information to help solve this case. Anyone with information on this or other crimes is asked to call the Fort Morgan Police Department at (970) 867-5678. If a person with information wishes to remain anonymous they can call Crime Stoppers at (970) 542-3411 and may be eligible for a cash reward or submit your tip online.
