[ARCHIVED] Weekly Crime Alert by Community Resource Officer Roger Doll

Artwork Stolen in Burglary

Police are investigating the theft of artwork after a resident, moving from her house in the 500 block of Cove Lane, reported over $3,000 in artwork missing from her residence after she had packed it for the move.

The owner told police she had placed several different oil paintings into a plastic container and left it in the home she was in the process of moving out of. The artwork had been purchased from a single artist over a period of several years.

At some point while moving, the victim realized the container was missing. In all there were seven different pieces of work valued between $450 and $650 dollars each. Several of the paintings were described as having floral images.

Police would like to return this artwork to its owner. Anyone with information on this or other crimes is asked to call the Fort Morgan Police Department at (970) 867-5678. If a person with information wishes to remain anonymous they can call Crime Stoppers at (970) 542-3411 and may be eligible for a cash reward or submit your tip online.
