The City of Fort Morgan is launching another grant program to assist local businesses as they reopen their doors under new and evolving guidelines and regulations stemming from the Coronavirus pandemic.
The City of Fort Morgan “Reopen Safe, Reopen Strong” business grant program is intended to assist city businesses that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Funds for this grant program are being provided by the Coronavirus Relief Fund as part of the CARES Act.
The City previously funded an initial round of business assistance grants using city reserve funding in the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak. That effort assisted some 35 local businesses with nearly $70,000 in financial aid.
The Reopen Safe, Reopen Strong program will use state and federal funds the city expects to receive under Coronavirus relief programs.
Applications for the new grant program will be available online only, beginning July 15, at https://www.cityoffortmorgan.com/858/COVID-19-Business-Resources. However, applications will only be accepted between Wednesday, July 22, and Friday, Aug. 7.
Applications will only be accepted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Again, applications submitted prior to July 22 will not be accepted.
For more information on the Reopen Safe, Reopen Strong business grant program, contact Sarah Crosthwaite at the city’s Economic Development Department at 970-542-3924.
Only businesses with a physical presence in the City of Fort Morgan are eligible for this program. Businesses located in unincorporated areas of Morgan County or within the City of Brush can contact their local government offices to apply for similar grant funds.
The City of Fort Morgan thanks its local businesses and continues to be committed to serving the business community today, tomorrow, and in the future.
