The Fort Morgan Library & Museum is challenging patrons to create their own interpretations of the concept behind a current museum exhibit for display in a Patron Art Showcase in the library.
The exhibit now in the Museum Lower Gallery is “Passages,” a photographic exhibition by former Morgan County resident Dennis Lauck. The exhibit explores not the places we’ve been or the places we will be, but rather, in a Mindfulness way, the “Passages” in between that we experience in the moment, according to Lauck. They are Physical passages in streets, pathways, trails, waterways, bridges; Visual passages through doorways, windows, archways; and Abstract passages of time and spirit.
The Art Challenge for library/museum patrons is to submit a photo showing your interpretation of this theme of “Passages.” The artwork can be the photograph itself or patrons can create work in other media and bring or send an image of that, but only photos will be accepted.
Entries are due by Sept. 30 and must be no larger than 8-1/2 x 11. Only one entry per person and all ages are welcome. Each person submitting an entry will be placed in a drawing for a $25 gift card.
The “Passages” exhibition will be on display in the lower gallery until Oct. 22.
