The Gene Doty Senior Center and the Armory Recreation Center reopened to the public on a limited basis starting Monday, Jan. 11, after Morgan County was moved to a less restrictive level on the state’s COVID-19 dial.
Users of both facilities will need to make advance reservations for specific time slots and uses.
At the senior center, time slots available will be 8 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 4 p.m. Reservations can be made for a table in the card room or main hall to play cards or other tabletop games, or to play pool in the billiards room. Each table is limited to four individuals with a maximum of eight individuals in each room.
All patrons will be required to have a symptom screening upon entry and wear a mask at all times when in the senior center. The facility will be closed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Meet N’ Eat home meal delivery program and for staff to disinfect all rooms and equipment.
To register for a time slot at the Gene Doty Senior Center, call (970) 542-3922. Time slots must be confirmed by a staff member to be valid. In the event that you must leave a voicemail, please leave your name and phone number so we can call you back to confirm your reservation.
Also starting on Monday, Jan. 11, the Armory’s weight room and cardio room will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Staff will be limiting the number of patrons to ensure compliance with local health department regulations.
Patrons are asked to maintain safe social distancing practices including staying at least six feet apart from other users and disinfecting equipment with provided wipes after use.
Individuals interested in using the gymnasium (for basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, pickleball, etc.) may do so by reserving a one-hour time slot. An individual can reserve for a total of up to six individuals to play in that time slot.
Standard entrance fees apply for all Armory users including remaining punch card uses. To register for a time slot, call the Armory at (970) 542-3921. Time slots must be confirmed by a staff member to be valid. In the event that you must leave a voicemail, please leave your name and phone number so we can call you back to confirm your reservation.
