[ARCHIVED] Music Players and Jewelry Stolen in Burglary

A Public Service Announcement
By Community Resource Officer Roger Doll

A Fort Morgan resident with a home in the 900 block of Meng Drive called police recently to report that numerous items had been stolen from the residence when the homeowner was absent from the house.

On January 6 police were called to the scene where the homeowner reported someone had stolen several items from the residence the previous day. The tenant first discovered a music player missing and then noticed several more items missing including rings and necklaces.
The victim told police that someone may have entered through the back door and stolen three different types of music players, numerous items of jewelry and a digital camera.

Police believe the thief may have been traveling on foot because several other larger items of value were left behind. It appeared the thief or thieves only took what they could carry in their pockets.

In all, three MP3-style music players, two necklaces, three rings, one bracelet and a pink Kodak digital camera were stolen from the home. The value of all these items totaled over $1,000.

Anyone with information on this or other crimes is asked to call the Fort Morgan Police Department at (970) 867-5678.

If a person with information wishes to remain anonymous they can call Crime Stoppers at (970) 542-3411 and may be eligible for a cash reward or submit your tip online.
