The City of Fort Morgan Light and Power Department next week will be rebuilding the power line from Alco Road west along US Highway 34 to County Road 17.
The line rebuild project is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 4, and is expected to be completed by the end of November. The work will be in the Colorado Department of Transportation right of way on the south side of US 34 and traffic may be impacted.
The project consists of installing new power poles, hardware and wire to ensure public safety and to maintain the reliability of the electric system. Reliability is the ability of an electric system to perform its functions under normal and extreme weather circumstances which helps prevent outages.
The project is part of the Light & Power Department’s ongoing maintenance program of the city’s electric distribution system.
For any questions about the project, call Doug Linton, Light and Power Superintendent, at 542-3912.
