Graffiti Vandals Paint the Town

Over the weekend of February 5th and 6th, Fort Morgan police responded to several vandalism incidents involving graffiti at locations between Riverside Park and South Elm Street and as far west as Barlow Road.

In all, there were at least six separate reports and victims included private residents, the school district, and the City of Fort Morgan. The costs to remove or paint over the graffiti came to approximately $765.

In most cases blue, red or black spray paint was used to deface fences, signs, buildings, dumpsters, picnic tables and utility boxes. It is unknown whether the incidents are the result of one person or group of persons, or if there is any connection between the crimes.

Police are looking for those responsible for the vandalism and are seeking information that may help solve these crimes. Residents are asked to be vigilant and call police should they see anything suspicious.

Anyone with information on this or other crimes is asked to call the Fort Morgan Police Department at (970) 867-5678. If a person with information wishes to remain anonymous they can call Crime Stoppers at (970) 542-3411 and may be eligible for a cash reward or submit your tip online.
