Check Out 'Brain Boxes' at Library for Teaching Kids

The Fort Morgan Public Library is excited to announce a new literacy and educational resource for caregivers! “Brain Boxes” are geared toward children as young as infants up to preschool age.

Each Brain Box is a unique educational tool for caregivers containing activity guides and materials needed for encouraging healthy brain development.

Brain Boxes incorporate the S.T.E.P.S. to Early Brain Development Training Modules developed by New Directions Institute. Included activities address the following areas of brain development: Security, Touch, Eyes, Play and Sound, and positive one-to-one interactions between the caregiver and child, increasing quality time for bonding and learning.

All activities also incorporate the ABC’s of Early Learning: Attention, Bonding and Communication.

Stop in anytime during library hours to check out a Brain Box for your child or children in your care! Checkout sheets are located in the Children’s Library. Bring the sheet for the kit you want to the circulation desk to check it out.
