On March 5th, Fort Morgan Police received a report of a counterfeit 50-dollar bill that was passed at a local restaurant.
The fake bill was used by a female suspect to purchase a food order that had been called in previously. The caller used the name Tonya and a phone number was captured on the caller ID at the business
Investigating officers called the number and were unable to locate a person with the name that was given, but police continue to investigate. While the value of the theft is $50, passing a counterfeit bill is a felony and could be charged under federal statutes.
