A Public Service Announcement
By Community Resource Officer Roger Doll

Fort Morgan Police are investigating a pair of burglaries that occurred in apartments located in the 200 block of Main Street on March 16.

Officers were called to one apartment where it was reported that a purse and wallet, with cash and contents, were taken from the dwelling sometime during the day. Several hours later, officers were called to a nearby apartment on a report of a missing laptop computer which had also been stolen during the day.

The victims indicated they had locked the doors to the apartments before leaving, and officers were unable to find any forced entry into the rooms. Police believe the thief may have been able to enter the residences by bypassing the locks with a duplicate key or some other similar means.

The value of the missing items was reported at $825 and police are searching for the person or persons responsible for these burglaries.
