Fort Morgan Police are investigating two thefts that appear to be connected based on the location and timing of the incidents.

Officers responded to two separate calls where items had been stolen from parked vehicles. Based on information given by the victims, the thefts most likely occurred in the early morning of Thursday April 21.

The first reported theft was discovered before 7:30 in the morning and involved a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Grant Street. In this incident, an iPod and $80 in cash were taken. The second reported incident happened sometime after 5:30 a.m. on the same day. In this case a portable DVD player and a CD player were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Lincoln Street. The value of all the items taken in theses thefts was approximately $345.

In both cases the vehicles were most likely unlocked and the thieves searched glove boxes and center consoles for items of value.
