By Community Resource Specialist Roger Doll

The Fort Morgan Police Department recently took a report of a burglary from a business in the 400 block of Ensign Street that resulted in the theft of a large amount of cash.

On May 9, police were called to a burglary at an establishment where the thief made entry into the business and stole a total of $4,500. The money was taken from several locations within the store including a locked drawer that was pried open.

The crime occurred sometime over the previous weekend and was discovered the following Monday morning by an employee coming to work. Access to the business was most likely made through the rear entrance.

The thief rummaged through many drawers and cabinets in the building, looking for something to steal.
