[ARCHIVED] Burglary Targets Synthetic Marijuana/Cigarettes

Weekly Crime Information Alert
By Community Resource Specialist Roger Doll

Police are looking for three suspects who broke into a business in the 200 block of South Sherman Street in the early morning of June 2, 2011.

An officer found the glass in the front door to the business broken out at approximately 3:40 a.m. Officers checked the business, but the suspects had already fled the scene with merchandise from the store. Video surveillance from a security camera caught the thieves breaking the window and entering the store

Two of the suspects went directly to a counter displaying synthetic marijuana, stealing numerous packages as well as paraphernalia for smoking. The third suspect went directly to the shelves containing cigarettes and stole numerous packs of different brands.

The burglars were wearing dark clothing including hoodies and gloves. They broke the window to the front door, entered the store, remained inside for a short time, and left the same way they entered.

Officers are awaiting completion of an inventory by the owner to determine the exact amount and value of the stolen items.

Police are asking anyone with information about this, or any other crime to call police at (970) 867-5678. If a person with information wishes to remain anonymous they can call Crime Stoppers at (970) 542-3411 or submit your tip online and may be eligible for a cash reward .
