[ARCHIVED] Attempted Armed Robbery Under Investigation

Fort Morgan Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that was reported on June 4, 2011 at approximately 11:30 in the evening. Police responded to the 800 block of Meng Drive and spoke with the victim, who said he had been walking in the area when he was approached by a suspect who attempted to steal his iPod and money.

The robber attempted to physically take the items away from the victim and a scuffle ensued. At some point during the disturbance the suspect pulled a knife from his pocket and the victim received a cut on his arm. When the attacker realized the victim had been injured, he fled the scene.

The suspect was described as a white male with short hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black shirt and khaki pants. The knife was described as a pocketknife with a black handle. Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. In addition to attempted armed robbery the suspect could face second degree assault charges as well.
