Fort Morgan Police are investigating two burglaries that were reported on Sept. 2, in which the victims lived about a block apart.
The first offense was reported on the 700 block of Carol Street. The victim indicated a window screen had been removed and the perpetrator climbed through, breaking a faucet as they entered.
The thief took alcohol valued at $300 and left damage of approximately $80.
The second incident occurred in the 600 block of Warner Street. In this burglary, the criminal entered the residence by forcing a window-mounted air conditioner through the frame and climbing inside through the opening.
The victim reported several electronic items were stolen including a camera, an i-Pod, and a 32-inch television, as well as a money card with $15 credit. In all, approximately $404 was stolen from the residence.
Because the crimes occurred in close proximity both in time and location, and involved similar types of forced entry, police are investigating the possibility that they could be related.
