Fort Morgan's television Channel 17, the City public access channel, will be off the air for several weeks while new equipment is obtained and installed to upgrade the City's broadcast system.
Live programming normally carried on Channel 17, such as City Council meetings and this evening's public presentation on robbery prevention by the Fort Morgan Police Dept., will not be affected.
Channel 17 normally shows a wide-ranging lineup of informational slides about topics from City utilities to Library/Museum and Recreation programs. It is these slides that will not be broadcast during this outage of Channel 17.
City Council meetings, normally held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month starting at 6:00 pm, will still be broadcast live, even during this outage.
The FMPD robbery prevention workshop, scheduled for tonight at 6:00 pm, will also be shown live on Channel 17. The workshop is aimed at providing information to business owners, employees, and the general public about what to do before, during, and after a robbery.
