Do you have unused, unwanted or expired prescriptions or over-the-counter medicines in your home? You can properly and securely dispose of them this Saturday, September 29th at Colorado Plains Medical Center in the parking lot between 10:00 am & 2:00 pm.
The Fort Morgan Police Department will be holding a free prescription Drug Take-Back event this Saturday, September 29 - between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Officers will be in the Northwest corner of the Colorado Plains Medical Center parking lot accepting medication anyone wishes to properly dispose of.
Prescription drug abuse is among the fastest growing drug trend in our state. Most homes have a supply of unused or expired drugs. This increases the chance that they can be misused or abused. This drop off program is a free, safe, and easy way to properly get rid of unwanted drugs.
Most medications will be accepted. If you wish to use a marker and block out any personal information, you can but it is not necessary. Law enforcement officers will be on hand to receive your medications (no questions asked) and ensure proper handling and security of all deposited medications. Liquid medications should be kept in their original containers.
Some items that CANNOT be accepted include: needles/sharps, oxygen containers, pressurized canisters, or chemotherapy/radioactive substances.
For a limited time between now and Saturday, September 29th, the Fort Morgan Police Department will accept you Drug Take-back items at the Police Department (901 E. Beaver Ave.) during normal business hours.
