A Fort Morgan resident became the victim of a theft when he left his cellular phone in an unlocked vehicle and within sight of passersby’s.
On February 18th, the victim left their new cell phone valued at $400 in a vehicle parked on the street in the 200 block of Ash. Even though they were only gone for approximately forty minutes, when they returned, the phone had been stolen.
The cellular phone is described as Black, LG “cookie” brand phone and had been recently purchased. This is a reminder to all residents to always lock their vehicles when they are leaving them unattended and to never leave valuables within view inside of their automobile.
Many thefts are a crime of opportunity and can be avoided when alert citizens don’t give criminals the chance to commit a theft.
