A Fort Morgan resident was awoken in his residence last Wednesday afternoon by a relative, only to be told that someone had taken his television set.
The occupant was home alone in the 100 block of Alpine and was sleeping, when a relative returned home and discovered the television in the front room was missing.
Police were called and discovered the only item take was a 32 inch Sanyo television valued at $300. Other valuable items nearby were undisturbed.
The burglary occurred within approximately a one-hour time frame when the relative had left the home owner sleeping in the house alone. When leaving, the relative did not lock the door to the residence.
Officers questioned neighbors and workers in the area but no witnesses to the burglary were found.
Police remind home owners that it is a good idea to always lock your doors, even when you are home. Residents may be busy in another part of the house and not hear someone knocking or entering their home.
