[ARCHIVED] FMPD Asks Residents to Complete Community Survey

The Fort Morgan Police Department is asking residents to complete a survey to help the department evaluate and improve its services to the community.

“It’s important for the department to maintain a strong partnership with community members to help us serve and protect the community to the best of our abilities,” said Police Chief Darin Sagel. “I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to take this survey and give us their feedback.”

The survey will assist the FMPD in evaluating areas in need of improvement as well as those in which the department is doing well, Sagel said. In addition, the survey results can help the department determine public perception of the department’s performance and sharpen the focus of police training.

The FMPD has an upcoming training scheduled on the community policing philosophy, and the survey can help guide further similar trainings in the future, Sagel said.

The survey consists of 24 multiple choice questions, primarily focused on perceptions of the police department, safety in the community and crime concerns of residents.

The survey does not include an opportunity for general comments or questions, but Sagel said anyone can feel free to call him at (970) 542-3931 and offer input or ask questions.

A link to the survey can be found on the city’s website at Click on the link called “Police Department Survey” on the left side of the home page. The survey can also be reached at

The survey will be active indefinitely, but Sagel said he would prefer to see residents complete it before the end of this year.

The Fort Morgan Police Department can be reached at (970) 867-5678. In an emergency, call 911.
