Main Street Railroad Crossing to Close Again March 3-4

UPDATE: The railroad crossing at Main Street is expected to reopen this evening, but will have to closed again next week as crews perform maintenance and repairs in the area.

UPDATED: The next closure is expected to start about 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, and continue through 5 p.m. The crossing will reopen overnight and then be closed again from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 4, according to information from BNSF Railway.

Youth Soccer Registration Ending Soon

The City of Fort Morgan Recreation Department is currently taking registration for youth soccer, for children from Pre-K to 6th grade. Registration ends on March 6. The youth soccer season is scheduled from March 30 to May 8.

Major Street Project to Begin on West Platte Avenue

The first street closures of what will become a months-long infrastructure and resurfacing project will start this week on West Platte Avenue (US 34).

Temple, Underwood Honored with City Employee Awards

Two City of Fort Morgan workers were recognized with the city’s highest employee honors at the recent annual meetings of all city employees.

David Temple was named the Employee of the Year for 2020 and Matt Underwood was selected as the Manager of the Year. Temple is a technician at the city’s wastewater treatment facility, and Underwood is the Golf & Cemetery Superintendent.
