Erickson Retiring June 12 After 40 Years with Gas Dept.

Paul Erickson was 25 years old when he started working for the City of Fort Morgan on August 4, 1980. The city gas superintendent was Paul’s neighbor and asked him one weekend if he was interested in a job at the city.

The next Monday, Paul went to the gas department, filled out paperwork, and was hired on the spot. His beginning salary was a little over $2 an hour.

Groundbreaking June 11 for New City Fieldhouse

It is with great pleasure that the City of Fort Morgan announces a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Fort Morgan Fieldhouse at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11.

After years of discussion and planning by City Council and staff, construction will begin on the recreational fieldhouse in June, with an anticipated completion date in June 2021.
