Resignation Leaves Opening on City Planning Commission

The City of Fort Morgan’s Planning Commission has an immediate vacancy caused by the resignation of a member who moved outside the city limits.

The vacancy is for the remainder of the previous member’s term, which is set to expire on April 1. Anyone appointed to fill this position would have to apply to be reappointed in just a couple of months.

Fort Morgan Earns Formal Historic Designation

Fort Morgan officials are pleased to announce that the city has earned formal designation as a Certified Local Government (CLG) by History Colorado, the Colorado Historical Society.

The designation became official as of Jan. 7, according to a letter from the National Park Service concurring with the designation.

The City of Fort Morgan has received nearly $70,000 in state business relief funds to distribute to local small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senior Center, Armory Reopen with Limits

The Gene Doty Senior Center and the Armory Recreation Center reopened to the public on a limited basis starting Monday, Jan. 11, after Morgan County was moved to a less restrictive level on the state’s COVID-19 dial.

Users of both facilities will need to make advance reservations for specific time slots and uses.
