Who do I speak with if I was not happy with the services provided by a police officer?: You can contact police dispatch at 970-867-5678 and ask for the on-duty supervisor. The supervisor will address the information according to the appropriate procedure. The Fort Morgan Police Department investigates any allegations of employee misconduct received from any source outside or inside the department, to include anonymous sources so long as there is sufficient factual information to warrant an investigation.

1. How do I get a copy of a police or accident report?: Records requests are taken at the Fort Morgan Police Department Monday -Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Valid identification is required. Visit our Records page for further information and to print the records request form.

4. How can I have an officer come speak to my group or organization?: Officers are available to speak to groups on a variety of topics. If you would like to schedule an officer to speak to your group or organization, call the Community Resource Division at (970) 542-3948.

6. How do I find out if a Registered Sex Offender is living near my home?: Residents can view the Sex Offender Registry on the Fort Morgan Police Department's webpage. Another option is to purchase a printed copy of the sex offender registry at the Fort Morgan Police Department. Residents are encouraged to check with their County law enforcement agency as they will have a list of sex offenders who live outside City limits.

7. Does my five year old need to be in a car seat?: Children over 40 pounds and under 57 inches in height must continue to ride in a child restraint or booster seat. For more information, you can download the Child Restraint Law brochure in English and Spanish. Child Restraint Law

8. Can the police department inspect my car seat that my child will be using?: Yes we can. Officer Cindy Brackett is our Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. You may contact the police department at 970-867-5678 and ask for Officer Brackett. If she is not on duty, you can leave her a message at (970) 542-3930, ext. 3234 and leave her your name, phone number, and the best time to contact you. She will contact you to make an appointment.

9. I have a general law enforcement question, who do I contact?: You can call the police department at (970) 867-5678 and ask for an officer to stop by or return a phone call to you. Advise the dispatcher what the qestion is in regards to.

11. General Department Information: The Fort Morgan Police Department employs 28 sworn officers and five civilian employees. Our office is located at 901 E. Beaver Avenue, Fort Morgan, Colorado. Administrative hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To report a non-emergency crime, call 970-867-5678. For emergencies, always dial 911.

13. What is the curfew for teenagers?: For children under the age of 18:
Sunday to Thursday, curfew of 11:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, curfew of 1:00 a.m.

15. How long does my child need to be in a car seat?: Regardless of age, restrain your child in a car seat or booster seat until they are about 57” tall (4’ 9”). A child’s height is the best predictor of proper seat belt fit. A car seat with a “5-point” harness
system is best for a child until they are at least 40 pounds. Keep child rear-facing as long as car seat allows. Children over 40 pounds and under 57” (4’ 9”) in height must continue to ride in a child restraint or booster seat. 18. I have some items that were put into evidence. How do I get them released?: Contact Police Clerk Mary Holt at (970) 542-4401 or Officer Roger Doll at (970) 542-3948 to make an appointment. Appointments can be made Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. For evidence to be released, bring a picture ID and an evidence release form either from the District Attorney's office or from the Fort Morgan Police Department.
