City of Fort Morgan Information

Fort Morgan's municipal election for Mayor and City Council seats takes place in November of odd-numbered years.


The municipal election for 2025 has three available seats. 

  • Mayor - Elected at large - Shall serve a term of two years
  • Ward 1 Councilmember - Shall serve a term of four years
  • Ward 2 Councilmember -  Shall serve a term of four years
  • Ward 3 Councilmember -  Shall Serve  a term of four years


The municipal election for 2025 had four available seats.  Doug Schossow was deemed elected for his first term as Mayor, defeating Kevin Lindell.  Brian Urdiales, representing Ward 1 and defeated Rena Frasco.  Incumbents Jon Kaper representing Ward 2 and James Parks representing Ward 3 were both deemed elected.  

In addition to the election of municipal candidates, other ballot issues may be presented to the voters of Fort Morgan during regular or special municipal elections.
