General Information
A Farmers Market is when food is being sold for home consumption at a temporary location within the City limits of Fort Morgan. These food vendors must obtain a City of Fort Morgan Farmers Market License by filing an Application for Farmers Market Sales Tax License with the
City Clerk. The license which must be posted at the temporary market location or available for viewing on site.
The vendors do not charge the State sales tax of 2.9% on these sales because the State exempts food sales for home consumption. However, the City sales tax of 3% must be charged / collected / remitted at the end of the season to the
City Treasurer using the Farmers Market Tax Return Form.
