Advertising on Public Property
Section 11-1-10 of the City
Municipal Code prohibits any type of advertising on public property.
Here are some examples:
- Using the sidewalk or right of way for billboards or other advertising.
- Using the sidewalk, right of way, or city utility poles to post signs.
- Such as Garage Sales, Benefits, Business Sales, etc.
- Alleyways, public buildings and property to include items on that property.
Although most of us wouldn't think twice about putting up a sign for a benefit, auction, or a garage sale, it is against the City Ordinance to use public property for advertising.
