BBQ with the Blue

Join us August 6th from 4:00-8:00 at the Glenn Miller Park for our annual event that brings the community and law enforcement together for a free evening of food, music, lots of activities and dozens of organizations sharing resources that are available to you in our community.  It is an evening you will not want to miss!   

Blue Santa

Blue Santa delivers boxes of toiletries and food to senior citizens in need.  If you know of a senior who needs to be added to our list nice list, please contact the Fort Morgan Police Department at 970-542-3930 ext. 4401.

Donations will be collected in November for nonperishable food items and toiletries. Monetary donations can be made to:

Citizen Police Academy

The Morgan County Citizen's Police Academy is hosted by the Fort Morgan Police Department, Brush Police Department and the Morgan County Sheriff's Office. Academy attendees will learn what police officers do in the performance of their duties and the rules and laws that guide them on a daily basis.

Throughout the 7 week course attendees will tour each agency, learn about patrol procedures, officer safety, traffic accident and DUI, courtroom procedures/constitutional law, jail procedures, drones, less lethal, code enforcement, K-9, use of force, shooting simulator, firearms, and SRT.  
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not have any felony convictions.

This year, as part of the 2025 National Faith & Blue Weekend, we will be hosting this event for FREE! This event aims to facilitate safer, stronger, and more unified communities by enabling local partnerships between law enforcement professionals, residents, businesses, and community groups through connections of local faith-based organizations. It doesn't matter what your faith is; what matters is we come together, UNITED, for a better Fort Morgan.

Youth Academy

Get an inside view of law enforcement with a combination of demonstrations and interactive lessons in Use of Force, Firearms Simulation, Municipal Laws, School Topics, Court Procedures, Traffic Accidents Overview, EMT, Dispatch and Fire, Search & Seizure and K9, Investigations, Drone Operations

FMPD's Youth Academy is for youth 13 - 18 years of age.  The purpose of the Academy is to increase understanding between young citizens through education and interaction with members of the Fort Morgan Police Department.  The Academy gives the young citizens the opportunity to learn why we "can" and why we "cannot" do certain things.   The 2026 Summer Youth Academy will be posted the spring of 2026.
