Electric Line Rebuild to Start July 17

Beginning Tuesday, July 17, the Fort Morgan Light and Power Department will be rebuilding a main transmission line and the project could potentially cause unexpected power outages.

The line to be rebuilt is a 115 kV main electric transmission line from the Henderson Substation near Walmart to the substation near Cargill Meat Solutions. This project is part of a 10-year plan to improve the city’s electric system reliability...

"Rock and Read" to Wrap Up Summer Reading 2018

The Fort Morgan Public Library will wrap up its 2018 Summer Reading Program July 31 with a special “Rock and Read” performance by Meghan Casey and her puppet pal Aidan.

Aidan is trying to start his own band and it’s up to Meghan and YOU to help him!

This finale performance will start at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 in the Children’s Library. All ages are welcome and no registration is required.

New Exhibit Features Local Vintage Postcards

A new exhibit recently opened in the Fort Morgan Museum’s Lower Gallery: Vintage Postcards of Morgan County.

The exhibit features postcards showcasing various eras of Main Street, the rodeo, area churches, previous businesses and local railroad history. Several postcards on display date back to the late 1800s and span into the 1900s.

Dinner Playhouse Trip for Seniors Planned Aug. 25

The Fort Morgan Senior Center is offering a trip for seniors to see the play “Newsies” during a matinee performance at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in Johnstown.

The cost is $60 per person and includes transportation, one of the selected entrees from the playhouse and admission to the show. The meal begins at noon and the show commences at 1:30 p.m.
